T-REX Group, Inc. (“T-REX”), a fintech supporting complex asset-backed financing, has expanded its capabilities in data automation and portfolio management technology for infrastructure and project financing. T-REX delivers tech-enabled efficiencies and the economies of scale required to invest in renewable energy projects without sacrificing margin. The New York based firm recently launched its EMEA division operated from the UK to support the launch of the project finance offering. It’s led by fintech executive, Ben Sher, who joined the company following its $40M Series C funding round led by Riverstone Holdings LLC in 2022.

T-REX for Project Finance helps lead arrangers, investors, developers, and stakeholders in a deal collaborate with a single source of truth in a space challenged by disparate data sources and manual data entry. Aggregating financial, operational, and ESG data from any source and standardising it for use in deal development and ongoing analytics throughout the lifecycle of a deal unlocks efficiencies previously unavailable to the project finance industry.

Further, T-REX’s Insights and Analytics Platform offers portfolio management, risk analysis, modeling, and reporting tools with collaboration features and API integrations to work with any tech stack.

“Today, project finance sits at a crucial turning point for funding renewables and low emissions projects. While the cost of producing renewable energy has decreased and investors, seeking to meet ESG goals, have grown more comfortable with investing in the assets, the project finance industry’s ability to unlock the capital ready to flow into these investments is stymied by legacy technology and inefficient data management,” said Tricia San Cristobal, Chief Product Officer, T-REX.

“With T-REX for Project Finance, the industry can now adopt modern investment technology to increase efficiency, collaboration, and transparency to drive deal flow. Gone are the days of manual processes, managing multiple Excel documents, locked-up data and the financial risk associated with lack of transparency and coordination.”

T-REX was founded to address the growing demand for modern technology to power complex asset-backed finance and the need for tools to accelerate investment into energy transition.

Ben Sher, Managing Director, EMEA, says “The energy transition space is subject to a ‘funding gap’ of several trillion USD globally. The challenge in closing this gap is less a question of whether funding is available, but an issue of accessing liquidity by delivering transparency into cashflow models and capital structures. T-REX delivers the transparency firms need across both pre- and post-close workflow. Bringing tech-enabled data management and portfolio management capabilities the industry needs in order to manage investments at scale.”
